Lockdown day #60

Following the slight relaxation in lockdown rules in England, it is now possible to meet someone who is not in your household and have a "socially distanced" meeting/walk in a park or a garden.  Taking advantage of this I agreed to walk to Heaton Park and there meet a friend for a "socially distanced" walk around the Park.

I had walked home from Heaton Park on previous occasions and considered it reasonable to therefore walk to the Park.  I had not thought this through.  Walking back from Heaton Park is about an hour's walk, downhill most of the of the way - I hadn't taken into account that walking TO the Park is about an hour's walk, UPhill most of the way!

I got there shortly before the rendezvous time, and was simply shattered!  I needed a sit down before the walk round the park could commence.  It was, however, a lovely way to while away a few hours, and we had our lunch sitting on a wall.

We parted at the car park, and then I had the daunting task of walking home.  In all I walked 12.8 km (just under 8 miles).  My feet were protesting by the time I got home!

In other news, I received a lovely poem from another friend, and I watched an online exercise class from Lincoln (all too much effort for me).
