Lockdown day #64

This is the blog for 19 May ...

I had yet another disturbed night ... convinced someone knocked my door at 4am - by the time I got to my door there was no-one there.  Then a little while later the door buzzer went off; presumably someone who had not got their keys since I heard other door buzzers a few minutes later too.

I received an e-mail from the Australian Commonwealth Games Association with their newsletter - Greater Together.  Lots of news of preparation towards the Birmingham Commonwealth Games; it is 800 days to go to the Games!  Also, the is the news that the 2021 Commonwealth Youth Games has been postponed - to maybe 2023.  It does mean that some who would have been 18 in 2021 will miss out completely, since they will not qualify for a games in 2023.  There are so many cruel things happening related to this virus - and there will be some very disappointed young people by this decision.

I had a visitor in the form of Brigitte - who is doing a study into the effects of lockdown  - the study is entitled "WEIRDEST PARTICIPATION OBSERVATION STUDY EVER!!!" - and an exhibition (maybe also a book) could follow when we have the virus under control.  We went to the park and chatted and then went back to the flats for a photoshoot.  Certainly a very different thing to do!

Late in the evening I had a phone call to the effect that the husband of one of my dancing friends had died.  That made me feel sad for my friend.
